Michael Fraser
Dr. Michael Fraser serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials (ASTHO). Dr. Fraser is a dynamic leader in the health care and public health fields and has experience leading public health associations, medical societies, and the federal government. He has been featured in interviews with the Washington Post, New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Politico, The Hill, CNN, Bloomberg, MSNBC, and other national and regional media outlets. Dr. Fraser is a coeditor and author of A Public Health Guide to Ending the Opioid Crisis with Jay Butler and coauthor of A Communications Playbook for Public Officials: How to Effectively Manage the Message, the Media, and Yourself with Robert Johnson. He is coeditor and author of the forthcoming Handbook of Strategic Skills for Public Health Practice with Brian Castrucci and author of the forthcoming Leading Systems Change in Public Health: A Field Guide for Practitioners. Dr. Fraser is an affiliated faculty in the Departments of Global and Community Health and Health Administration and Policy at the George Mason University, College of Health and Human Services. Prior to joining ASTHO, he served as the executive vice president and CEO of the Pennsylvania Medical Society. He served as CEO of the Association of Maternal and Child Health Programs (AMCHP) from 2007 to 2013.
Brent Ewig
Brent Ewig is a leader and advocate for public health. For close to three decades, he has worked with government agencies, nonprofit associations, foundations, and other interest groups in the global, federal, state, and local health policy arenas. He became Chief Policy and Government Relations Officer for the Association of Immunization Managers (AIM) in August 2022. He previously worked as a consultant policy advisor to AIM and Director of Policy and Government Affairs at the Association of Maternal and Child Health Programs (AMCHP). He also worked eight years at the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials (ASTHO), where he served as Principal Director for Prevention and Public Health.
